The Z-Stepper Transmission with Brake is generally used with long stroke Z axis of more than 8 inches or 200 mm.

Note: These motors are extremely reliable and motor failure is very rare. Before replacing this motor check the following more likely problems:

* Loose and slipping pulley on the motor shaft
* Burnt wires on either motor connectors or on the step drive connectors in the control box
* Blown stepper drive fuses
* Stepper drive failure
